Welcome to a new year first-grade families! I am looking forward to working with your students and watching them grow as we start semester 2!
Conferences and half days are approaching! We have half days this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. First grade will dismiss at 11:05 A.M. on these days.
This Wednesday and Thursday I will be holding conferences to share winter MAP data, fluency, phonics, phonemic growth as well as going over report cards. Conference sign uplink.

This week in the classroom:
Writing: we are continuing our informational writing unit! This week we will be reviewing text features, main topics, and subtopics.
Reading: We are learning ow, ou and kn this week for phonics. In reading comprehension, we are working on cause and effect as well as summarizing.
Our phonics words for this week: crown, tower, pouch, outside, allow, chowder, round, mouse, flower, playground
we are focusing on learning the sounds of ou and ow as well as using them in these words.
Math: We are working on memorizing our addition and subtractions facts! We are also reviewing our numbers 0-120 and place value.
